This is the third year of the COVID-19 pandemic and we’ve learned a lot about managing the
virus and minimising the spread of infection. Our staff have worked exceptionally hard to
protect the residents and clients in our care, and we appreciate the combined efforts of the
whole Joseph Banks community to keep everyone safe.
Protocols
We have made changes to reflect the risk to our community, we will now operate in a Normal Environment.
In a normal environment,
Visitors
- Are no longer required to wear a mask.
- You are required to undertake a rapid antigen test every three days or when experiencing symptoms.
Residential care
- There is no cap on visitor numbers.
- For Residents, we strongly recommended a current flu vaccination and fifth COVID-19 vaccination
dose for residents. - For Staff and Visitors, we strongly recommended a current flu vaccination and two doses of COVID-19 vaccination
- Visitors and contractors must continue to check in on the declaration form at the reception desk.
COVID-19 protocols in an outbreak environment have also been updated.
The conditions of a Normal Environment apply in an outbreak, plus we require staff, clients and visitors to follow these guidelines:
- N95 masks are required for staff and visitors in red zones.
- N95 masks, shields/glasses and gowns required for delivery of care to residents who
are COVID positive.
We encourage you to share these with other members of your family who also visit Joseph Banks.
Restrictions may be reintroduced should the risk to residents, clients and staff wellbeing increase.
