Costs
The accommodation costs in aged care can be a combination of three charges (if applicable) based on your personal financial circumstances.
Daily Bed Fee – this is an amount determined by the Australian Government and is based on a percentage (approximately 84%) of the full Australia Aged Pension. This charge applies to every admission to an accredited and Government supported Australian aged care facility.
RAD – (Refundable Accommodation Deposit). Everyone who moves into an aged care home agrees a room price before moving in. Joseph Banks has 3 (three) types of rooms and the values are detailed below. ( Joseph Banks has a number of rooms identified for Fully Supported consumers – i.e. No RAD is applicable )
We will deduct permitted Retention Amounts from any Refundable Deposit you pay. The applicable rate of retention is 2.00% per annum for up to five years
Means Tested Care Fee – In addition to the accommodation payment, you may be asked to pay a means tested care fee. This fee will be advised by Services Australia once they have received a request for an Income & Assets review form. This form should be lodged for an assessment with Centrelink/DVA as soon as possible, any Means Tested Fee will be based on the information provided on this form.
