With JB going into lockdown on the 4th July, the Lifestyle team had to swing into action and re-think the month’s activity calendar, making sure each wing, and even each Resident,
was kept busy during this difficult time. All Residents handled the situation very well and were very understanding, with many of them more concerned about the Staff than themselves.
The month of June began by increasing cultural appreciation with special guests for a delayed Chinese New Year celebration. The Love Heartz Dance Group Inc. performed Chinese / Asian cultural dances. Residents loved the bright coloured costumes and enthusiastic ladies who not only danced so beautifully but also entertained with some singing during the costume changes.
Dee says, “Well, I think I can say on behalf of all Staff and Residents that we are happy to see the back of May!
What a topsy-turvy month we had with covid playing havoc with our activities here at JB but what an awesome team we have to make it through to the other side!”
At JB we had a great Easter with heaps of fun, Lifestyle staff dressing appropriately (or inappropriately!).
The table decorations were a real hit due to enthusiastic input from Residents.
We had the Commemoration of ANZAC Day at Joseph Banks this year which was held on Friday 22 April.
